At UAS@UCLA, we undertake various research projects to advance drone technology and provide hands-on experience to our members. SUAS 2025

Flagship project

Our main goal for the upcoming year is to build a drone for the SUAS 2025 competition. This competition is the largest aerial robotics competition in the world, and is the first of its kind for undergraduate students.

5kgs capacity
Our drone is designed to carry a variety of payloads, including sensors for object detection and air drop mechanisms, with a capacity of up to 5 kilograms
10km range
With a flight range of 10 kilometers, our drone is equipped to cover significant distances, suitable for diverse mission scenarios, including precise waypoint navigation and search operations
80 km/h speed
The drone can achieve speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour, allowing it to efficiently complete its mission tasks and quickly return to base

We are UAS@UCLA, an undergraduate aerial robotics team at UCLA. Our student-driven team excels in designing, manufacturing, and testing state-of-the-art drone hardware and software.
